CHAPTER 2

I have only one friend, and he is the little prince.

나는 오직 한명의 친구가 있다. 그는 어린왕자이다.

My plane doesn't work in the desert. And I am alone. Also, I only have water for a week.

내 비행기는 사막에서 작동되지 않았다. 그리고 나는 혼자다. 또한 나는 1주일 정도 버틸 수 있는 물을 가지고 있다.

On the first night, I go to sleep on the sand. I hear a strange little voice in the morning.

첫번째 밤, 나는 모래 위에서 잤다. 나는 아침에 낯선 작은 목소리를 들었다.

"Draw me a sheep."

양을 그려줘요.

"What?"

뭐?

There is a child who looks at me carefully. Here is a drawing of him. But, he looks sweeter than my drawing.

조심스럽게 나를 쳐다보는 어린이가 있다. 여기 그를 그린 그림이다. 그러나 그는 내 그림보다 더 멋있다. 

That is because, as you know, I do not draw anymore.

왜냐하면 너도 알다시피 난 더이상 그림을 그리지 않는다.

I look at the child with surprise. You know that this is the desert. The child doesn't seem lost in the desert.

나는 어린이를 보고 놀랐다. 너도 알다시피 여기는 사막이다. 그 어린이는 사막에서 길을 잃은거 같지 않아 보였다.

I say, "What are you doing here?"

내가 말했다. 여기서 뭘 하고 있니?

And he repeats, "Draw me a sheep."

그는 다시 말했다. 양을 그려주세요.

So I take out a sheet of paper and a pen. I am still in the desert.

그래서 나는 종이와 펜을 끄냈다. 나는 여전히 사막안에 있다.

As you know, I do not know how to draw. But, he says to me: "That doesn't matter. Draw me a sheep..."

I do not draw a sheep. I draw the boa snake.

너도 알다시피 나는 그리는 법을 모른다. 그러나 어린왕자는 나에게 말했다. 그건 중요하지 않아요. 양을 그려줘요.

나는 양을 그리지 않았다. 보아뱀을 그렸다.

Then he says, "No, no! I do not want an elephant inside a boa snake. I need a sheep. Draw me a sheep."

그리고 어린왕자가 말했다. 아니에요! 나는 코끼리가 안에 있는 보아뱀을 원하지 않아요, 나는 양이 필요해요. 양을 그려주세요.

So, I draw a sheep. But he says to me, "No, this sheep is already very sickly."

그래서 나는 양을 그렸다. 그러나 그는 나에게 말했다. 아니에요. 그 양은 이미 매우 아파 보여요.

So, I draw another one once more. But, he says to me, "No."

그래서 나는 다른 양을 그렸다. 그러나 그는 나에게 말했다. 아니에요.

I draw another one in a hurry. "This is a box. The sheep is inside the box."

나는 빨리 다른 것을 하나 그렸다. "이건 상자야. 이 상자 안에 양이 있어."

He speaks with a bright face. "That is exactly what I want. Does this sheep eat a lot?"

그는 밝은 얼굴을 하며 나에게 말했다. 이게 내가 정확히 원하던 거에요. 이 양은 많이 먹나요?

"Why?"

왜?

"In my place, everything is small."

내가 있는 곳은 모든것이 작아서요.

I say, "He is a very small sheep. There is enough grass for him."

나는 말했다. 그 양은 매우 작아. 여기 그 양을 위한 충분한 풀이 있어.

He says,"Not so small. Look! He is sleeping."

어린왕자가 말했다. 별로 안작은데..봐요! 양이 잠들었어요."
