CHAPTER 5

On the third day, I hear a story about the problem of the baobabs.(This is a tree name.)

세번째날, 나는 어린왕자가 바오밥 나무로 겪고 있는 문제를 들었다.

The little prince asks me quickly, "Is it true that sheep eat little trees?"

어린왕자는 나에게 급히 물었다. "양이 작은 나무를 먹는 다는게 사실인가요?"

"Yes, that is true."

"그럼, 사실이야."

"Ah! I am glad!"

"오! 나는 기뻐요"

"So, they also eat baobab trees?" The little prince asks me again.

"그럼 양들이 바오밥 나무도 먹나요?" 어린왕자가 다시 물었다.

I say to him, "No, baobabs are not little trees. They are as big as castles."

나는 어린왕자에게 말해줬다. " 아니, 바오밥 나무는 작은 나무가 아니야. 그것들은 성만큼 커"

But he says wisely, "Before they are so big, the baobabs start by being little."

그러나 어린왕자가 현명하게 말했다. " 그것들이 커지기 전에는 바오밥 나무도 작은 나무잖아요."

"Yes, that's right."

"그건 맞지"

"But why do you want the sheep to eat the little baobabs?"

"근데 왜 양이 작은 바오밥 나무를 먹어야 된다는 거니?" 

"What are you talking about?"

"무슨 얘기를 하는거니?"

He does not answer, so I have to find an answer by myself.

어린왕자는 대답이 없었다. 그래서 나는 나 혼자 답을 찾아야 했다.

Maybe there is also good grass and bad grass on his star. If he sees bad grass, he has to pull it out fast.

아마 어린왕자의 별에는 좋은 풀과 나쁜 풀이 있을 것이다. 만약 그가 나쁜 풀을 봤다면 그는 그것을 빠르게 뽑아야 할 것이다. 

There are very bad seeds on the star. They are baobab seeds. If you wait to pull out the baobabs, they split the small star into pieces.

어린왕자의 별에는 정말 나쁜 씨앗이 있었다. 그건 바오밥 씨였다. 만약 바오밥 나무가 나오는걸 기다린다면 그것들은 작은 별을 산산조각 낼 것이다.

The little prince says to me later,"You have to pull out baobabs like you wash your face every day. It's boring, but it's easy."

어린왕자가 나중에 나한테 말해줬다. "매일 세수를 하듯이 바오밥 나무를 뽑아줘야 한다. 그것은 지루하다. 그러나 쉽다."

One day he says to me, "Draw a picture and let the children know about this land. If you don't do it every day, you will have big problems."

하루는 어린왕자가 나에게 말했다. "어린이들이 이 땅에 대해 알 수 있게 그림을 그려줘요. 만약 매일 하지 않으면, 큰 문제가 생길거라고."

So, I draw a star that is breaking from the baobab trees.

그래서 나는 바오밥 나무로 휘청거리는 별을 그렸다.

"Children! Watch out for the baobabs!"

"어린이들아! 바오밥 나무를 조심해!"

I draw that tree very carefully. I think this drawing is great.

나는 그 나무를 엄청 신경써서 그렸다. 내 생각에 이 그림은 대단했다.

I try to draw other pictures as well as the baobabs, but I can't.

나는 다른 그림을 바오밥 나무처럼 그릴려고 노력했지만 못했다.

So, the other pictures are not as good as the picture of the baobabs.

그래서 다른 그림들은 바오밥 나무 그림처럼 좋지 않았다.
