CHAPTER 4

I have more information about the little prince. His star is about the size of a house.

나는 어린왕자에 대한 더 많은 정보를 가지고 있다. 그의 별은 집 한채 정도의 크기이다.

When a star scientist finds a small star, he gives it a name by a number. I believe the little prince came from star B-612.

천문학자가 작은 별을 발견했을 때, 그는 이름 대신 번호를 부여한다. 나는 어린왕자가 B-612 별에서 왔다고 믿는다. 

A Turkish star scientist finds this star, but nobody believes his words because he is wearing Turkish clothes.

터키의 천문학자가 이 별을 발견했다. 그러나 그가 터키옷을 입고 있어서 아무도 그의 말을 믿지 않았다.

A Turkish leader has great power. He orders his people to change from Turkish clothes to European clothes. 

The star scientist wears European clothes and talks about the B-612 again. Everybody believes his words.

터키의 강력한 힘을 가진 지도자가 터키 옷을 유럽식 옷으로 바꾸라고 명령했다.

천문학자는 유럽식 옷을 입었고 다시 B-612 별에 대해 얘기했다. 모든 사람들이 그의 말을 믿었다.

I talk about numbers a lot because men like numbers.

When you tell them that you have a new friend, they ask you these questions: "How old is he?" "How many brothers does he have?"

They always want to know numbers.

어른들이 숫자를 좋아하기 때문에 나는 숫자에 대해 얘기를 많이 한다.

너의 새로운 친구에 대해 그들에게 얘기를 할 때, 그들은 이런 질문을 한다. "그 친구의 나이가 어떻게 되니?","그 친구는 얼마나 많은 형제가 있니?"

그들은 항상 숫자에 대해 알고 싶어한다.

If you talk to men, you have to tell them, "I see a house that cost 20,000 dollars."

Then they say,"Oh,what a pretty house that is!"

만약 너가 어른들이랑 얘기한다면, 너는 반드시 이렇게 얘기해야 한다. "저는 20,000 달러 짜리 집을 봤어요"

그럼 그들이 말한다. "오, 엄청 멋진 집이겠구나"

If you say to them, "There is the little prince. He is lovely,and he is looking for a sheep."

They consider you to be like a child. 

"여기 어린왕자가 있어요, 그는 사랑스럽고 그리고 양을 찾아요."라고 말하면 그는 너를 어린이 취급 할 것이다. 

But if you say to them, "The star he comes from is B-612."

they can understand what you say.

그러나 "그는 B-612 행성에서 왔어요" 라고 말하면 그들은 너가 뭘 말하는지 이해할 것이다.

I like to begin this story like a fairy tale, but people may read it lightly and forget about it.

나는 이 이야기의 시작을 동화처럼 시작하고 싶었어요, 그러나 사람들은 그걸 가볍게 읽거나 잊어버릴 거에요.

My friend is not with me. I don't want to forget the little prince, so I'm describing him here. This is why l buy a box of paints and pencils.

But, it's not easy for me to draw again at my age.

내 친구는 나랑 같이 없어요. 나는 어린왕자를 잊는걸 원치 않아요. 그래서 나는 여기서 그에 대해서 묘사할거에요. 이런 이유 때문에 나는 연필과 물감을 샀어요.

그러나 내 나이에 그림을 다시 그리는건 쉽지 않아요.

Sometimes, I make some errors, but I try to draw as best as I can. I make mistakes on important details, but that is not my fault.

My friend never explains anything to me.

때때로, 나는 실수를 할거에요. 그러나 나는 내가 할 수 있는 한 최선을 다해서 그릴거에요. 나는 아주 중요한 부분에서 실수를 할 수 있어요, 그러나 그건 내 탓이 아니에요.

내 친구가 아무 설명도 안해줬거든요.
